When researchers at the London School of Economics examined the relationship between volunteering and measures of happiness in a large group of American adults, they found the more people volunteered, the happier they were.

Community Service increases social and relationship skills that lead to new friendships and contacts. 

We've partnered with several organizations around the greater Miami area to provide these opportunities to our members.

• FIU Nature Preserve

• Camillus House

• Vizcaya

• Beach Cleanup

Every week we host in-person meetings at FIU's MMC campus. During which, our members are exposed to a variety of topics ranging from workshops on public speaking to panel discussions with recruiters from the top firms in the world.

This is a weekly opportunity for our members to come together and network, engage with our Executive Board, and develop skills that last a lifetime through social interaction and group discussions. 

Social events provide an opportunity to expand one's social circle and maintain those relationships in a comfortable setting.

We encourage social interaction with all of our members and Alumni. Every semester we host multiple social events. Each will bring new experiences and help you learn something new. Whether that's how to socialize better or a skill you could use, it will expand your sense of life understanding.

• Karaoke Night in Brickell

• Ice Skating

• Kayaking to Haulover Sandbar

• Full Moon Kayaking

• Beach Day

We are an organization that charges no dues from our members. Instead, as you may know by now, we enforce this point system for members that want to be inducted into our honor society. Fundraising helps us pay for the extra curricular activities carried out by our organization like our semesterly induction ceremony and socials.

We host weekly fundraiser tabling events that combine multiple skills from selling and social, to accounting and money management.

​

The goal is to raise funds while also developing the teamwork and leadership skills that make fundraising successful. 

​

Throughout the semester there will be multiple professional development/ special events being hosted outside of our organization that will benefit you to attend. 

FIU provides multiple opportunities for students to attend workshops, job fairs, etc. Additionally, we've partnered with a few local organizations to provide networking opportunities to the members of our society.

• Venture Cafe in Wynwood

• Women's Power-up Event

We have multiple committees that are open for all members to join. Each of these committees provide members with unique opportunities to apply skills picked up in the classroom, or learned at one of our workshops, to projects that are aimed at growing our organization.

Committee meetings are less formal than our general meetings and focus on specific projects.
